Our method

We teach the fundamental elements of music using the voice and body first, before transferring to instruments.

Using the mimetic systems of the body, we use games to keep learning simple and fun.

Understanding pitch

Using specially-designed hand signals to physicalise pitch, we use the solfege system to physicalise pitch and develop understanding of how scales are used to make melodies.

Rhythm through movement

Using the body as a diagnostic tool, we can understand rhythmic notation through movement or locomotion.

We can also use a delicious cake analogy to explain the division of beats and tempo.

Composition and Improvisation

We explain composing in a similar way to baking, mixing different amounts of important ingredients such as melody, dynamics and rhythm together, to make a scrumptious musical cake!
